Data Collection Tools
Hey Blog! I want to bring the attention of data collection tools such as surveys as a future educator. Using tools that let you host surveys such as some affiliated google applications such as google forms, survey monkey, etc. can help direct certain aspect of the classroom and affect the student-teacher relationship. For example, if I were to use a survey to grab the majority vote on a opinion such as the students voting for this week's test to be open book and the following week to be non-open book and vice versa, it gives the students the idea to be heard. Likewise, the students in my case 5th graders, will start to realize that their opinion matters and can be ultimately a way to make the students feel safe and confident within my classroom. I think I will be using it as a way to make decisions based on my students needs and allowing them to make the decisions for themselves, as I would want to give them the ability to do what they think is best based on the provided options. This also gives the classroom more flexibility to be creative with the classroom allowing positivity to spread.
Reviewing Classmates Blog's
Reviewing my classmate's blogs was interesting and likewise aspiring. Seeing other likeminded people as myself wanting to do more and speak about the same topics as myself opened my eyes that regardless if posed the same question, there will always be someone with a slight different opinion and view on it. Looking at the majority of the blogs from my classmates, made me feel as if I was watching a TED talk from someone, and hearing them voice their concerns within their community. Knowing, that other future educators as myself strive to improve not only themselves but the education system to advocate for the students. I also love seeing the creativity that my classmates have to make this blogs as appealing and reflecting on their personalities as well.
Technology-Related Skills
Some technology-related skills I would like to learn is more coding, I think coding some website that are interactive for my students would be fun. I also believe this would be cool and fun as I could make a website that included birthdays, announcements and due dates for homework assignments. I also think this could enhance our days, as it can give my students something to look forward to.
