Who am I?

About me

Hello everyone! My name is Alex Diaz and I'm currently a Junior that's majoring in Elementary Education graduating in 2027 with my masters. I'm twenty years old, and would label myself as tech-savvy, proudly certified in all Adobe products and build computers for fun! I love to travel to new places that I haven't been before in hopes of expanding my cultural knowledge and including trying new foods! I also like photography and videography, where I usually record vlogs and other videos of me going to new places in hopes of sharing the excitement I experience!

Prior Experiences in Technology in an Educational Setting

Some prior experience I've had with technology in an educational setting consists of my old high school where I was part of several clubs that relied on technology. One club was for BPA or Business Professionals of America, where I helped students prepare for their competitions on county, state, and national level through means of presentations. Another area was the use of computers to teach and help monitor the use of Adobe products that we taught students such as Photoshop, Illustrator and Animate. I can also proudly mention that during my time in SGA or Student Government Association, I helped teach new incoming members with use of Kahoot, GroupMe, Quizlets and Canvas to help them familiarize with important documents and procedure.

Personal Learning Networks (PLN)

Some PLN's I use to support my learning needs and goals mostly consist of online resources that I frequently used. One example is Twitter or X, where some educators use a certain hashtag to find resources relating towards a specific matter or as a generality. I also take advantage of their community section where you can be added to a community with similar interest. Another online site I use consists of Reddit, there's a variety of communities and groups that I actively participate where people give advice, educational resources and help plan goals you want to reach. The last online one I use is Discord, you can create communities and add subcategories to talk either voice or text about certain methods to support your interests, needs and goals. As for offline, I'm part of a variety of clubs at my University that help expand and connect with professionals in the same field where they can help you make a game plan and assist in certain academic questions.
